Tony Wied voted “Aye” for PL119-21 (Public Law 119 - 21, aka The One Big Beautiful Bill). In doing so, he essentially said he was perfectly fine cutting access to healthcare for millions of American citizens.
Let me be clear: 276,000 Wisconsin citizens are losing their healthcare because Phony Tony helped pass the law. People are losing healthcare because Wied and his fellow Republican sycophants added more red tape and hurdles to the process of getting healthcare, not because people don’t qualify. By adding more check ins, more stipulations, and more forms to fill out, the idea the Republicans use to “reform” healthcare is to make people so frustrated in the process of getting care, they give up. This will be a death sentence for some, while negatively impacting others far more than what can even be understood.
Tony Wied doesn’t care, and he literally seems to have no problem with this.
I’m showing up at his office for this Ambulance Protest because this is NOT okay for the people of Wisconsin or District 8, and it’s NOT okay with me. He needs to be reminded of his careless conduct and contempt for the people of District 8, and I intend to remind him.
I’m inviting you to this protest rally event and we’ll remind him together by asking the important question: Does kicking Wisconsinites off healthcare make America great again?
From Brown County Indivisible:
Wisconsin families are in crisis and Wisconsin hospitals are at risk of closure. When Tom Tiffany and Rep. Tony Weid voted for the "Big Ugly Bill," they chose tax cuts for corporations and billionaires over health care for working people. The consequences are real: an estimated 276,000 Wisconsinites are losing Medicaid coverage, ACA premiums have surged, and families across the state are being forced to choose between medical care and financial survival.
Join us at Tony Weid's office as the Ambulance Tour rolls into our community.
You'll hear directly from medical professionals and community members about what these cuts mean on the ground — for patients, for families, and for Wisconsin's health care system. You'll have the opportunity to call Tom Tiffany and Rep. Weid to account for their vote on the Big Ugly Bill. As Wisconsin prepares to elect a new governor in November, the stakes couldn't be higher. Tom Tiffany is asking Wisconsin voters to hand him the keys to the Governor's office — the same Tom Tiffany who just voted to strip health care from 276,000 of your neighbors. We're not letting him forget it.
This is what we'll do together: -See the ambulance — a stark reminder of what's at stake when health care is taken away -Hear testimony from health care providers and Wisconsinites directly impacted by Medicaid cuts and rising ACA premiums -Hold Tom Tiffany and Rep. Weid publicly accountable for their votes -Make your voice heard — call their offices with us
